Dr. Judy Staveley is a nationally recognized leader in STEM education, biotechnology, and public service. As a Biotechnology Subject Matter Expert, she is an author, educator, and mentor whose work bridges science, innovation, and community impact. Currently, she serves as President of The Platform Magazine LLC and Foundation and CEO of STAVETECH Innovations, where she leads initiatives at the intersection of science, education, national security, and community engagement.
With a career spanning biotechnology, public health, education, and government-related work, Dr. Staveley is deeply committed to advancing scientific education and expanding access to STEM opportunities for students, families, and communities. Her emphasis on mentoring young scientists highlights her dedication to practical science education and real-world application, particularly for military-connected families and underserved populations.
Dr. Staveley’s commitment to mentoring the next generation of scientists, engineers, and innovators has earned her five consecutive nominations for the Presidential Award for Excellence in Science, Mathematics, and Engineering Mentoring from 2020 through 2024. Her leadership and volunteer service have also been honored with multiple Blue Star Families Presidential Volunteer Awards, along with the Maryland Governor’s Citation in 2024 for her contributions supporting military families across the state.
In addition to her executive and professional roles, Dr. Staveley has held leadership positions within national and regional scientific organizations, including service with the National Association of Academies of Science, the American Junior Academy of Science, and as former President of the Washington Academy of Sciences. Through these roles, she has helped shape programs that inspire young scientists and strengthen the scientific community.
As a scholar, author, and advocate, Dr. Staveley continues to champion education, service, and innovation. Her work reflects a lifelong commitment to empowering others through science, mentorship, and community leadership.
